Yesterday
I went to the State Prison at Jamestown to shoot a qualification
course. Never been to their range before. They don't believe much in
signs, and you have to actually drive across the helipad to get to the
right road. It's weird.
But
the interesting part was the local wildlife. There is a small herd of
black deer on the property. I have never seen a black deer before let
alone several of them. They are quite at home there as they are not
hunted and have gotten use to the sound of gunfire so it doesn't bother
them. One of the guys at the range said the coloring is due to their
diet, something about a lot of acorns on the property and that if it
wasn't for that their coloring would be more normal. Still, it was kind
of cool.
