HERE KITTY KITTY

Houston is best known as a city where almost all men, and many women too, pack a pistol, but on Sunday one of its kittens made national headlines

People called the police after seeing the wild cat in the area

Tiger spotted in Fleetwood neighborhood

Sunday was Mothers Day, but that didn't stop the usual gun-play in Houston.  However there was a different kind of excitement in the Fleetwood subdivision.

A loose Bengal Tiger was spotted prowling on the streets before laying down on the front lawn of a house.

When a brave, or stupid, off-duty Waller County sheriff's deputy found out about it, he rushed over to the scene to "protect the neighbors."  With gun in hand, he walked to within a few feet of the big cat.  That's when a man came out of the house shouting, "Don't shoot, don't shoot!'

Waller County Deputy Wes Manion exchanging words with the tiger's owner.

The man then led his kitty back into the house thereby depriving the deputy of the chance to bag a tiger.

Once the excitement had died down, the neighbors resumed listening to the gunfire.
