OREGON LAWSUITS OVER COVID FIRINGS

by Bob Walsh

Nine Oregon state troopers and 24 state firefighters sued Governor Kate Brown over her Covid-19 vaccine mandates for state workers.

One of the troopers is currently on paid leave.  He posted a video on to social media, which he made in uniform  and on duty in his police vehicle so it is possible that is some of the source of his problems rather than his refusal to get vaccinated.

The lawsuit was filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court.  The plaintiffs allege that the vaccine order violates their right to free speech under both the federal and state constitutions.

The vaccine mandate didn't work well for Nurses at Houston Memorial Hospital System. The courts sided with Houston Memorial and hundreds of Nurses were fired or vaccinated. I believe public healthcare employees and 1st Responders should be vaccinated. I also believe they should have a choice. If they choose to refuse Covid-19 vaccinations they can find another job. However, I don't believe refusing the vaccine should be a criminal offense.
