I GUESS I DIDN'T GET THE MEMO

I tried to make a couple of phone calls today on my dinosaurs only landline telephone.   No go.  Called the phone company on my seldom used cell phone.  It seems that, effective yesterday, per the FCC, ALL landline calls now need all 11 digits (1 + area code) to go thru, even local calls.  What a pisser.  I wonder whose brilliant idea that was.
