MORE INFO ON NEWPORT NEWS TEACHER SHOOTING

By Bob Walsh

Zwerner was shot in the chest at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News at 2pm Friday                Abby Zwerner, 25, was shot intentionally Friday by a 6-year-old student at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia.

The pistol that the rugrat took to school to shoot his teacher with was legally purchased by the kid's mother.  He took it to school in his backpack.

After the incident an unnamed staff member restrained the youngster until the cops showed up.  The youngster did not appreciate being restrained and attacked the staff member.

The shooter is being held under medical observation.

It is unclear whether or not any charges will be filed against the mother regarding access to the 9mm semi-automatic Taurus that was used in the shooting.

The teacher's condition has been upgraded to serious but stable.

Nothing will happen to a 6 year old kid.

Very true. There will be some court action but he can not be tried as an adult, can not be incarcerated as a juvenile and maybe can not even truly be tried at all. The mother, who owned the gun, may have some problems of her own.
