There were seven people shot over the past weekend in the
crime-ridden and gang-infested metropolis of Stockton. Two of those
shot died. That brings the count for the year to 45 dead, not quite one
per week. Not a record, but definitely worth an honorable mention.
Among those shot was a 5-year old.
The
local fishwrapper is way behind the curve on crime reporting. I don't
know if that is because the RECORD does not do their own printing any
more and their deadline is way back or they have cut back so far on
staff that they just can't get the news out when it is actually news.
