TOILET TO TAP

By Bob Walsh

How Do Sewage Treatment Plants Function

In the formerly great state of California it is now legal for sewage to be reprocessed and recycled for normal household use, as opposed to things like irritation or filling ornamental fountains, etc.  The water supply agency must notify their customers that this is being done.

As of right now there is no water agency in CA doing this, or even capable of doing it.  Theoretically such water is so "clean" that they have to put various normally encountered minerals back into the water to make it taste normal.  Theoretically.

It is likely that San Diego will be the first municipality to go in this direction.  For some strange reason there is significant customer resistance to this idea.

The berg where I live has a sewage problem. The sewage plant is located on the bay and sometimes it stinks. Miraculously, it fixes itself.
