The Park Fire is now burning in four counties of Northern
California and has bumped past 350,000 acres with only about 12 %
containment. It started burning in a corner of Bidwell Park, one of the
largest public parks in the country. A lot of the original Robin Hood
movie was shot in this park.
They
actually have an idiot in custody for starting this one. He apparently
set fire to his mothers car and pushed it into a ditch, triggering the
blaze. The fire is burning north and west away from Chico. It is now
the 8th largest fire in CA history. It is burning some land that there
is no record of having a fire since they have been keeping track of such
things.
