Mel Gibson says  Kamala Harris has the intelligence of a fence post.

Mel Gibson says he's voting for Donald Trump this November and believes Kamala Harris has the intelligence of a fence post.

The Braveheart star and devout Catholic was spotted at LAX on Thursday and laughed off a question about who he was voting for in 2024.

'Oh man, that's a big question. I don't think it's gonna surprise anyone who I vote for,' he told TMZ in a rare public spotting.

After confirming that Trump was a 'pretty good guess,' he suggested that he knew 'what it'd be like if we let her in,' referring to Harris.

'That ain't good: miserable track record, appalling track record, no policies to speak of and she's got the IQ of a fence post,' Gibson said.

Gibson has been critical of both major political parties throughout his career. He said he voted for neither major candidate in 2016.

The 68-year-old actor called Bill Clinton a 'low-level opportunist' in the 1990s and was vocal against George W. Bush's wars in the Middle East in the 2000s.

In 2016, however, he said he did not vote for Trump or Hillary Clinton.

In 2021 Gibson saluted Donald Trump in the crowds at Saturday's UFC clash between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.

The Hollywood actor and director acknowledged the former US president as he walked by surrounded by his bodyguards at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

The actor has previously faced a barrage of criticism after a series of anti-Semitic comments throughout his career.

He was criticized after the release of his movie The Passion Of The Christ in 2004, which was controversial for its gory violence and alleged anti-Semitism.

In 2010, Winona Ryder alleged that Gibson referred to her as an 'oven dodger', in reference to her Jewish background. Gibson's representative said the allegations were '100% untrue'.

Gibson faced significant backlash after his recorded antisemitic tirade during the 2006 arrest in Malibu.

He later issued an apology, claiming there was 'no excuse' for his behavior and specifically expressed regret to the 'Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words.'

In 2016, he told Variety that his offensive comments were 'recorded illegally by an unscrupulous police officer' during his arrest.

He added: 'Ten years have gone by. I’m feeling good. I’m sober, all of that kind of stuff, and for me it’s a dim thing in the past.'

'But others bring it up, which kind of I find annoying, because I don’t understand why after 10 years it’s any kind of issue.'

The Braveheart star emphasized that he does not discriminate and believes he shouldn’t be judged for the reprehensible comments he made while under the influence.

It was also noted in the police report that at one point Mel noticed a female officer, and shouted at her: 'What do you think you're looking at, sugar t*ts?'

In his apology letter to the Anti-Defamation League, he wrote: 'There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of Anti-Semitic remark.

'I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge.'

He had previously said in a statement that he was 'taking the necessary steps' to against his battle with alcohol abuse.

Many people have spoken out, including Robert Downey Jr., in favor of giving Gibson a new lease on life in Hollywood.

Most recently, actor Andrew Garfield said it’s time to move past the judgment of Mel Gibson.

The 41-year-old Spider-Man alum, who appeared in Gibson’s 2016 film Hacksaw Ridge, described the filmmaker as a 'real empathetic guy' who 'deserves a second chance' during an interview with People Magazine.
