SERIOUS STUPIDITY FROM THE CITY OF SACRAMENTO

By Bob Walsh

The City of Sacramento is preparing to initiate some local ordnances which are theoretically designed to reduce "gun violence" without being able to say exactly what "gun violence" is.  (Personally I am unaware of a gun ever committing an act of violence since they were invented.)

These new proposals are modeled after some initiated in the city of San Jose.  They don't bother to tell the people that the San Jose ordnances have never been implemented due to various legal and technical challenges.

One of those proposals is a mandatory liability insurance by gun owners.  The fact that this sort of thing is not available in the marketplace is an issue.  Also requiring insurance for a constitutional right has some issues attached.  They are also trying to implement a $25 per year per gun "harm reduction fee."  Same issues with this notion.  Another one is to prohibit any person under 18 from entering a gun store.  A further ordnance would shut down residence based firearms businesses that currently exist.

The city council legislation committee has unanimously approved ALL of these proposals.  They will be considered at the next city council meeting.

Texas sells ammo from vending machines. 18 to buy a long gun and 21 to buy a pistol. That sh*t in Sacramento will never be enforced.
