Senate Bill 497 originally had a requirement in it that would, if passed into law, limit residents of the formerly great state of California to purchasing not more than one gun of any kind or description whatsoever during any 30 days period. Current law limits residents to the purchase of one new handgun per month, but you can buy long guns or used guns until the cows come home.
Even a small victory is a victory. Speaking as someone who has on occasion bought tow or three guns a day, that is a win.
