It seems that the Special Counsel wanted as bunch of documents from the Trump transition team. So, they simply approached the GSA and said "Hand them over." The GSA was apparently very happy to suck them out of the computers and just hand them over without any sort of warrant or subpoena, and without regard for attorney-client privilege that might have attached.
Trump is pissed, and seems to have a legitimate legal reason for being so.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if Congress could get what they want from the FBI the same way? The DEEP STATE is really deep and apparently very malicious. Big surprise there.
