That is how much a consortium of the U. S., Canada and Mexico are paying to FIFA for the rights to put on the 2026 International Football (Soccer) championship aka World Cup in 2026.
After the massive scandal awarding the games to Qatar in 2022 pretty much the whole FIFA board was fired, resigned or arrested. The votes are now done in public. The competition was Morocco. I hear that Morocco is a nice place at the right time of year, but the idea that they have the infrastructure to put this on or could actually afford to build it in the time allowed is idiotic.
The games will be split about 75% in the U. S. and the rest in stadiums in Canada and Mexico. These stadiums already exist. Hotels already exist. Transport infrastructure already exists. It was an actual reasonable decision under the circumstances.
