BART is one of the rapid transit districts in the greater S. F. Bay Area. Like many such operations they have their own police force. They even have their own SWAT team.
In the rash of violence, including murders, on the BART system and property in the last few weeks BART has announced they are putting their uniform officers on mandatory six day work weeks.
BART police is perpetually understaffed due to mediocre pay for the area. They are budgeted 22 more officers than they have. They just can't hire or keep them.
BART stations are favorite hangouts for weenie wavers, public poopers and assorted dangerous crazy people.
EDITOR'S NOTE: The way you describe them, BART stations are the same as Mexico.
