The Camp Fire in Butte County is now officially the most destructive fire in CA history if you go by people killed (nine) and buildings destroyed (several thousand). It did this in less than one week where the Santa Rosa fire a few months back took the better part of a month to get there, and was not fully controlled for over a month. The Camp Fire is only 20% contained as of Saturday morning.
The Malibu fire has burned right down to the beach in places and is displacing a lot of people and destroying some very valuable real estate.
The fact of the matter is that the whole fire prevention and wild land management program across the state sucks, because idiots have been in charge of it for years.
