HUFFMAN DOES INDEED COP A PLEA

by Bob Walsh

Felicity Huffman did indeed cop a plead to fraud-conspiracy in a federal courtroom in Boston yesterday.

Ms. Huffman, 56, admitted to paying $15k to William Singer to inflate her daughters SAT score. She will be sentenced Sept. 13. She maintains that her daughter was completely unaware of the situation.

Prosecutors are recommending a bottom end sentence, 4-10 months, and a $20k fine. It is possible she will get only six months, and possible zero actual time in custody. Her guilty plea also waives all of her appeal rights, including the right to appeal the sentence.

David Sloan, 53, a water system manager from L A, pleaded guilty to the same charge. He shelled out a lot more money that Huffman. Prosecutors are recommending a year in custody and a $75k fine for him.

I wonder if she told her daughter that she had no faith in her abilities to do well on the test scores.
