AOC slams Trump's decision to award the Medal of Freedom to 'virulent racist' Rush Limbaugh and mocks radio host for feigning surprise in 'an Oprah moment'

New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez described radio host Rush Limbaugh as a 'virulent racist' and said the move to honor him at the State of the Union address on Tuesday was 'truly nauseating'.
Ocasio-Cortez said the handing of the Medal of Freedom to the conservative commentator was one of the reasons she did not attend the event.
She called the medal 'an extraordinarily sacred award' and noted that previous recipients have included civil rights icon Rosa Parks.
She also mocked Limbaugh's seeming surprise and shock at being given the medal, despite there being media reports about it throughout the day.

Roach’s mouth gaping open in surprise as Melania Trump placed the medal on him was phony since it came well after Trump announced he was giving the buffoon the Medal of Freedom.
Having said that though, I see nothing wrong in Trump awarding the Medal of Freedom to Roach. If that charlatan Jesse Jackson can get the medal, then surely Roach can get it too.
And I sincerely hope Roach is able to recover from his bout with lung cancer.

Commercial radio broadcasting has been around for 100 years. Rush Limbaugh has been a major force, maybe THE major force, in this medium for 1/3 of it's existence. I think that is worthy of some official recognition.
Note to editor: Is it possible he was not expecting it at that particular event, and at that moment? Is it possible he was, even though expecting it..still overcome by emotion? Rush has only recently been diagnosed with a terminal disease. Give the guy a break. Or is that asking too much...
Dave, wake up and smell the roses. The fake news media had been reporting all day that Roach would receive the medal during the State of the Union speech and Trump announced it at least a couple of minutes before Melania started to place it around his neck.
So then, there's no way, in your mind, that he could have been overcome by emotion? I still think you're being kinda harsh.
I don't usually out the bad mouth on a sick or dying person. I'll be as kind as I can. That being said, Rush was at times full of himself.
They say you should not speak ill of the dead. Except for the neo-Nazis, we should all be very ashamed of ourselves for what we say about Adolf Hitler. Likewise, we should all also be very ashamed for what we say about Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot and other deceased murderous tyrants.
