Barbra Streisand is supporting Joe Biden in the next presidential election and she delivered a scathing speech about Donald Trump's 'incompetence' to close a virtual Biden fundraiser on Sunday.
The
78-year-old spoke for eight minutes about the 'nightmare that is Donald
Trump', telling viewers the country 'can't survive four more years'
under his presidency.
'We're living in the nightmare that is
Donald Trump who is pouring gasoline on the fire,' she said in a
measured, even tone. 'He calls himself the law and order president, but
he doesn't obey the law and he can't keep the order.'
'This reckless man doesn't have the wisdom or the character to lead our nation,' she added.
'Our country is coming apart,' she said. Adding that there have been 'shocking violations of civil rights.'
'A
few weeks ago, Trump called out the troops against peaceful protesters.
That is what cowards do when they are scared,' The legendary singer
said.
'Donald Trump has failed us. And we cannot
survive four more years of his incompetence. I'm sad and embarrassed by
his lack of humanity,' Barbra told viewers.
'But
Joe Biden understands the anguish we're feeling right now. He will
listen to people rather than greeting them with guns. All they want is
justice. It's as simple as that.'
Adding that Biden would lead with 'grace and dignity who has respect for the truth unlike Trump, who doesn't believe in facts'.
'Let's face it, Trump is unfit, mentally
and morally, to hold this distinguished office,' she said. Going on to
add that 'we don't need a bully as a president' who 'corrupts' the
system of checks and balances.
A
longtime, outspoken opponent of Donald Trump, Streisand summed up her
feelings saying 'I don't know whether to laugh or cry at Trump's blatant
narcissism and his daily delusions.'

I wouldn't want my auto mechanic to sing "Memories." So, I wish entertainers would stick to their form of art. Several of them feel empowered to tell us what to think. By the way, what is she still doing in the U.S.? She promised to leave if President Trump won.
Back in the old days I used to use the Willie Brown test on Ca ballot initiatives. Saved me a lot of time. Anything Willie Brown supported, I opposed without any further thought on the matter. It always worked well and saved a lot of time and effort. Pretty much the same thing here.
