I Can't See Any Reason Why It Should

Theoretically
the Mayor of Portland, the Governor of Oregon and Donald Trump have
reached a semi-agreement to withdraw (or more likely just not deploy)
federal "troops" (law enforcement officers) from Portland once the
locals and staties get up and running to protect federal property.
The
mayor is practically jacking off with a microphone, screaming about how he has beaten the vile Orange Man and how it was the mere presence of
federal "troops" in Portland that was encouraging otherwise peaceful
protesters to riot. He seems to think that Trump is going to pull
every federal law enforcement and protective services agent out of
Portland pretty much overnight.
Trump
has said that the extra people will be withdrawn as soon as the locals
can demonstrate that they are able and willing to do the job.
My
own opinion, for what that is worth, is that within a very few days it
will become apparent that the locals are unable or unwilling to do the
job.
