There
are now two groups of federal medical personnel here in San Joaquin
County helping to staff Dameron Hospital and Lodi Memorial.
A
growing number of businesses are refusing to take cash money and are
demanding either plastic or check. I guess hookers and dope slingers
are still taking cash, and that is a large part of the local economy, so
cash is still circulating. I stopped by a Wells Fargo to get some cash
to pay my bookie and only one ATM had any actual currency left in it.
I
got the rear deck lid on my 65 Mustang wet sanded this morning. Looks
nice. I am still not sure what color I am going to go with but the
Grabber Blue on the rear deck lid does look nice.
The
local schools are NOT going to be open for real school work for at
least several weeks, probably a full semester and maybe the whole
year.
Restaurants
are being closed down again in San Joaquin County so I will miss out on
the occasional sit-down lunch at El Senor Frog, my favorite Mexican
restaurant in town. Life is hard.

I haven't used cash in several years. I like racking up sky miles.
Less than a 1% fatality rate for those who contract it. Of that 1%, well over 90% are people with compromised immune systems...people with other major health problems and/or those of us over the age of 70.
So let's just shut everything down, destroy our economy, and force everybody to comply with orders that are mostly ineffectual and totally unnecessary. Protect the weak and vulnerable. Assist them to isolate and/or self quarantine. Hamstringing the other 99% of our citizens...driving hundreds of thousands of people out of business with these draconian shut downs...accomplishes nothing.
