Yesterday
SCOTUS heard arguments in the two abortion cases. I can't imagine them
overturning Roe v Wade but, as has often been noted before, ROE is case
law, not statute law, and its constitutional foundation is shaky.
Also, as previously noted, legislatures are free to pass stupid laws as
long as those stupid laws are constitutional.
Tomorrow
SCOTUS will hear arguments that may (will) have as much reach for the
Second Amendment as did the Heller case. Essentially the court will (if
they feel the inclination) decide whether or not the 2A gives ordinary
law-abiding citizens the right to carry arms outside of their homes
and/or businesses without convincing a government agency they have some
sort of "special need" to do so.
Both are big deals.
