Gas prices in San Jose last March
The God-Emperor of the formerly great state of
California, Gavin Newsom, is calling a special session of the state
legislature to deal with what he calls unreasonably high gas prices and
price gouging. It should be remembered he worked hard AGAINST a measure
to temporarily drop off California's second-highest-in-the-nation fuel
taxes even though the state has a massive budget surplus. Several
states have suspended their gas taxes this summer, including both New
York and Maryland.
The
special session will be called in December to create a windfall profits
tax to "punish" the oil companies for "price gouging."
California
is starting this week to send out a rebate to CA taxpayers. (I will
get a whole $200.) This way the population will get money that appears
to be coming directly from the governor.
Right
now the Democrat-Socialist party in CA has a super-majority in both
houses of the state legislature and can pass pretty much any legislation
they want.
