BROS is the first gay romantic comedy made and released
by a major studio. It cost about $22 million to make and advertising
and promotion went about another $30 million. They had hoped-expected
to do $10-12 million the first weekend. It was actually less than $5
million.
The
makers-producers-stars are allegedly both surprised and disappointed
that a woke, self-indulgent gay romantic comedy didn't get a huge box
office in mainstream America. Imagine that.
