The Israel Defense Forces on Friday struck a terror cell operating in southern Lebanon after Hezbollah resumed attacks on northern Israel.
Several rockets were fired from Lebanon at military posts along the border close to Rosh Hanikra and Maragaliot, according to the military.
The Irone Dome missile defense system intercepted two rockets launched at Kiryat Shmona, added the IDF.
The military responded with artillery shelling towards the source of the fire.
Earlier, Iron Dome intercepted a “suspicious aerial target” that entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon. The interceptor missile triggered sirens in several communities in the Upper Galilee, according to the IDF.
On Tuesday, the military shelled targets in southern Lebanon, Reuters reported, citing Lebanese state media.
Israel has responded to multiple daily attacks from Hezbollah terrorists throughout the war against Hamas in Gaza, but the northern border was mostly quiet during a week-long ceasefire that ended on Friday.
