Carlos Reales Dominguez, 21, the former UC Davis student who knifed two people one fatally, has been found fit to stand trial.
The
former student was kicked out of school for academic failure a few days
before he started stabbing people early this year. Two of his victims
died. One did not.
The
shrinks have determined that he is now fit to stand trial and have so
notified Yolo County. He was kicked out of school on April 25 and
arrested on May 4th.
Back
in June the prosecution and the defense both stated they believed he was
at that time unfit to stand trial. I guess the miracles of modern
psychiatric treatment cured him. Dominguez told many people, including
his girlfriend at the time, that the devil was talking to him in his
dreams. His roomies got together to try to convince him to get some
psych help.
One thing I
can't quite figure out. If you talk to God you are a good
Jew-Christian-Moslem. If God talks back to you, you are a nut. If the
Devil gets into the conversation, you are a dangerous nut. Somehow that
does not seem fair to me. What if God, or the Devil, really DO talk to
people? It worked for Moses. Joan of Arc. A few other people from
time to time. Just asking.
