Satellite images of Hurricane Milton
This one may actually be the storm of the century. The
weather guessers are predicting the worst storm in living memory in that
part of the country. If it hits Tampa Bay the funnel shape of the bay
will tend to accentuate the storm surge. Even if it misses and hits a
bit south, which seems likely right now, they are predicting a 15 foot
storm surge that will very possibly sweep pretty much everything in it's
path. Even the Waffle House is closing down its stores in the area.
It looks like Milton will hit the shore as a Cat 4, maybe even a Cat 3, which is still nothing to sneeze at.
There are about 43,000 utility workers positioned in the
general area, ready to respond as soon as it is safe to do so. Looks
like DeSantis and the utility people (as well as maybe FEMA) have got
their shit together.
This time tomorrow we will have an idea what has happened. It won't be anything nice.

If Waffle House closes, leave. If Waffle House closes and boards up, Haul Ass out of there!
