A popular California sheriff who recently announced a bid for governor told DailyMail.com he hopes Kamala Harris will run against him.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, who has served since 2018, just announced a bid to succeed Gov. Gavin Newsom, who he says has ruined the Golden State.
He believes his experience in law enforcement qualifies him for the executive mansion in Sacramento.
And when posed with the prospect of having to face former Vice President Harris as his Democratic opponent, he said if it boiled down to them he'd celebrate in wild fashion.
'I would jump for joy if she was the candidate that I was running against,' the 58-year-old said through a smile.
'Her failures, and her dishonesty as the vice president, I would welcome that challenge, and I think that would be the best thing for my campaign,' Bianco told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview.
'She would be my biggest supporter along that campaign if she were running because she would do it all for me,' the Republican said, indicating Harris running would damage the Democratic ticket.
But Bianco's primary goal is to not allow another Newsom-like far-left replacement.

'These people are going to be just as bad as Governor Newsom or worse,' he said of the Democrats in the race.
Newsom's Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and decorated state senator Toni Atkins have declared while former Rep. Katie Porter and businessman Rick Caruso are rumored to hop in the race soon.
Former Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Beccera and Harris are rumored to have expressed interest in running as well.
'Somebody has to do something, or we're going to be living the same groundhog day over and over,' Bianco shared.
'Somebody has to step up and do this,' he declared confidently. 'I’ve learned that there are far more issues being caused by our government.'
Bianco shared that his stances on the border align closely with Trump's, and that he would be willing to repeal SB 54, a law that California passed designating the state a sanctuary for migrants who enter the country illegally.

'There would be no such battle with a Governor Bianco,' he added, saying Trump would never fight him for enacting his immigration policies.
And though California is a deep blue state, he says he's ready to bring his sheriff skills to Sacramento.
He noted that his jurisdiction, Riverside County, is roughly 7,700 square miles, the same amount of land as Connecticut and Vermont combined.
With all that land he has learned to crack down on fentanyl and other human and drug smuggling operations, another initiative he wants to take statewide.
'California is where all of the fentanyl is coming into the United States from,' he told DailyMail.com.
'As the governor, we will dedicate major resources to keeping our border secure, and to fighting the cartels that are terrorizing our communities.'
