Our
cousins across the pond are proposing a mandatory electronic ID card
for all adults working in the U.K. Part of the idea is to cut down on
illegal workers. The proposal is getting a lot of negative backlash
from the general population, saying that they don't believe the
government will keep the required information secure. They are probably
right. Doesn't mean it won't happen. At times the government over
there cares about as much about the peasants as the government in
California does, which is damn little.
The card would be available to all residents, but would be mandatory for all persons who have a job.
