Christina
Corpus is the Sheriff of San Mateo County, CA. She is in fact likely
to be the former Sheriff any day now. That being said in the meantime
the County Board of Supervisors has voted themselves a great deal of
oversight over how the Sheriff spends money.
They
are especially irritated by her spending $74,000 dollars for a
conference room table and several thousand dollars each for a couple of
"massage chairs."
In
addition to fiscal mismanagement she is under scrutiny for serious
personnel issues, including putting her boyfriend into a very highly
paid position in the S.O. that he was not legally qualified for and
having the head of the Peace Officer's Association arrested for time
card fraud that never actually occurred.
