The warden of a private prison in California City, CA was busted for, among other things, helping to run a prostitution ring in the Stockton area.

John Rea Garza, 48, declined to enter a plea Thursday. On March 1 he was one of seven men arrested as part of an undercover operation at a Stockton motel.

I was once assigned to a county that hired a civilian cook for the county jail. It was a small jail that probably kept less than 50 prisoners give or take. This cook soon realized that his county salary could be augmented by providing goods and services for the prisoners. The good times didn't last long before someone squealed. Probably an inmate that couldn't afford anything.

The cook landed in the county jail himself.
