Roy Moore, candidate for the U. S. Senate in next weeks special election, may or may not have been a seriously sleazy and skeezy asshole in his (comparative) youth. There is some debate about that. The little bit of hard evidence that may be against him, a notation in a high-school, year book, has been made unavailable for honest forensic examination. There is real evidence to believe that the entry is a forgery.

I admit to being uncomfortable with the "he might be a sleazy asshole but if he is he is a Republican sleazy asshole" defense. Fortunately it isn't my call. The voters of the fair state of Alabama will make that decision themselves next week.

I find I can live with that very easily.
