ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF TRUMP PUTTING MOUTH IN MOTION BEFORE PUTTING BRAIN IN GEAR

Trump threatens to withhold federal funds for California wildfires

On Saturday Trump issued an emergency declaration that provided federal funding for Butte, Ventura and Los Angeles counties, the California counties hardest hit by wildfires.

But soon thereafter Trump tweeted:

“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly fires in California. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

The President was spot on until he added “or no more Fed payments!”

You don’t threaten to withhold funds at a time when thousands of homes are destroyed and many lives lost.

If there is a time to threaten the withholding of funds, it is only after the fires have been put out and the dead buried.

Oh, I dunno. Actions (and in this case inactions) have consequences. What better time to highlight those consequences than now...while Californians are feeli9ng the result of their own elected officials stupidity?

Dave, I agree with you, but by threatening to withhold funds, Trump comes across as callous and unconcerned about the lives and properties lost.

Trump calls them like he sees 'em.
