SOCIAL DISTANCING HOMICIDE

by Bob Walsh

It may not be the first, but it is the first I have seen reliably reported.

This happened in the Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn. Cassandra Lundy, 32, was in the emergency room. She was on an IV, with the IV bag supported by the traditional IV pole. Janie Marshall, 86, who had dementia among other problems, grabbed onto the IV pole in an apparent effort to support herself. Lundy did not like that and shoved the old lady away.

Marshall fell and hit her head. Hard. She died. The Medical Examiner issued a death certificate saying HOMICIDE as the manner of death. Lundy is now charged with manslaughter in the first degree, manslaughter in the second degree, assault in the second degree and criminally negligent homicide.

EDITOR'S NOTE: They charged her with everything except the kitchen sink.

Just old style stacking. She will plea to the lesser charge and go home.
