NEIGHBORHOOD DOG ISSUE LEADS TO 3 DEAD IN POLICE SHOOTING

by Bob Walsh

They must take dogs very seriously in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  On Monday 3 people ended up dead, including the shooter and a 13-year old girl, as a result of an alleged dangerous dog dispute.

When the cops rolled up they found an adult man dead inside the house and the girl critically injured.  She later died at the hospital.  It appears she probably called the cops on an intruder shooting inside her house.

The intruder was still in the house when the cops rolled up, one P D officer and a Deputy from the school right across the street.  They were fired on and returned fire.  One of the cops was injured in the shooting.

It appears that the dispute started from a dangerous dog complaint.  The court had just that day declared the dog to be dangerous.  The owner went to the neighbors house, presumably on the belief that they initiated the action against his dog, and started shooting.

It is not known if the shooter was killed by the cops or shot himself.  The exact relationship between the people living in the house is not known.
