Tuesday
and Wednesday will be REALLY INTERESTING in a political sense. If the
Republicans manage to hold on to one or both of the Georgia senate seats
they will maybe breath a little tiny bit easier. A 51-49 split isn't
wonderful, but it is sure as hell better than 50-50, which is really
50-51 in favor of the Democrat-Socialists. Follow that mess, which will
almost certainly spill over a day or two, comes the congress ratifying,
or not ratifying the electoral college vote as specified in the
Electoral Count Act of 1887.
Despite
what the Socialists and media are saying, there have been NUMEROUS
attempts to successfully utilize the act to tweak elections, most
recently by Hillary Clinton. If I remember correctly it hasn't amounted
to a hill of beans since the Tilden-Hayes, in which the participants
played Let's Make A Deal in order to end reconstruction (federal
occupation) in the south.
Is
it possible that Trump could be successful in his attempt to either
overturn the election or correct rampant fraud, depending on how you
look at it? It is possible only to the extent that it is not
impossible. Unfortunately for Donald he is not well loved, even by much
of his own party. A lot of power brokers would be happy to see him go
as they view Biden as being more malleable. They are almost certainly
right. Unfortunately for him, even assuming the election was stolen
from him, all the thieves have to do is keep denying they stole
anything. It might not go away, but he will not likely prevail in
either the political arena or the legal arena. He will, however, manage
to piss in the soup. That may be enough for him and many of his
followers, but probably not.
One
thing for sure. Somebody, somewhere, will be screaming like a mashed
cat before it is all over. I would rather that it not be Trump, but I
am not going to put any ducats on that bet. You don't make any money by
drawing to an inside straight. It is not impossible, but it sure isn't
the way to go.

I believe in "We the People." Our elected representatives both Republican and Democrat have let "We the People" down. Our constitution is ignored and politicians leave their offices rich. Lobbyists are just another form of permissible bribery. Term limits should be enacted in an effort to stop career politicians from lining their pockets. Even in my small town we voted in term limits last year so people who hold an office cannot gain too much power. I took an Oath of Office when I served the State of Texas. Our elected officials take an identical oath of office yet they vote for PORK filled bills written by lobbyists that damage our country. I want to know something. Is there an allowable amount of voter fraud? I read where someone said if the voter fraud didn't change the outcome of an election it shouldn't matter. If so, then let's build that permissible amount into the Constitution. If not, then let's root out all voter fraud regardless of the amount and prosecute the criminals. President Trump is right to question any voter fraud. It needs to be investigated but our crooked career politicians would rather leave it alone and keep business as usual.
