DEPUTY AND K-9 MURDERED BY PAROLEE

On Tuesday night the Sacramento S. O. was in pursuit of a known dirtbag.  The pursuit ended with a crash on the grounds of Cal Expo.  The parole then did the "go away don't bother me" routine, refusing to roll down the windows of his vehicle or communicate in any way with the deputies.  The cops finally punched the rear window of his vehicle and sent in the K-9.  At that time the parolee came up with a handgun and shot the dog and two deputies.  He was then filled with holes by other deputies present.  

Unfortunately the K-9 and the K-9 handler both died of their wounds.  The dirtbag died, but the cost was way too high.  

I guess there is some sort of prohibition against using chemicals.  I would think that would have been the preferred method of forcing the dirtbag out, but then again I wasn't there to make the call.
