MY POLLS ARE STILL LOWER THAN WHALE SHIT ... LET'S GO KILL SOME PEOPLE

Is this a real wag-the-dog situation, or a legit strike with legit military and political reasons?  Sometimes it is hard to tell but the fact that I am dubious is slightly troubling.

It seems that the US launched a boots-on-the-ground operation in Syria to go after a high value ISIS goat fucker.  They were on the ground about two hours, which I am given to understand is roughly typical for such a thing.  The goat fucker in question blew himself and his house and some of his family up when the thing started going sideways for him.  A couple of women in the compound had come up shooting so it wasn't a visit from the Welcome Wagon.  

For now I am going to give Senile Joe the Hairsniffer the benefit of the doubt on this one.  But I will not be surprised to hear it was a convenient if useful political distraction in the long run.
