Judge Glenn Suddaby of the U S District Court for the Northern District of New York has just authorized the "new and improved" NY concealed carry laws to take effect. The new laws make it relatively easier (though not easy) to GET a permit but make it virtually impossible to actually carry as there is virtually no place you can legally carry on a CCW in New York state.
The Gun Owners of America and the Gun Owners Foundation moved for an injunction against the new law. The judge ruled the organizations did not have standing. The case will almost certainly be appealed to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
The new N Y CCIA (concealed carry improvement act) requires 16 hours of classroom work, two hours of live fire, and the permit applicant must inform the permitting agency of all of their social media accounts so those accounts can be screened for troublesome attitudes.
Sensitive areas where guns could not be carried include amusement parks, schools, public transport, and many other such. You could also not bring a gun onto private property without the consent of the owner.

The restrictions make the new concealed carry law useless.
Many businesses and most medical facilities and clinics have these signs up. For the most part...they are ignored.
Nothing bad has ever happened in a medical facility, right?
