This actually happened more than a month ago, but the fine details have only recently come out.
Dax
Tejera, 37, was a producer for ABC News in New York. He died on a
sidewalk in NYC two days before Christmas It was initially thought he
had a heart attack. He didn't.
He
and his wife and his two young children, 2 years and five months. They
had been staying at the Yale Club in New York City. Dax and his wife
Veronica went out to have dinner at Bobby Van's Steak House and left the
children unattended in their room. Not good. Dax was quite drunk and
choked to death after puking up what was apparently a chunk of steak.
His wife was arrested for child abuse and child neglect.
Ms.
Tejera is a new producer for the Washington Post. She was released the
following morning. Their grandmother did come to the Yale Club to pick
up the crumb snatchers shortly after their father died. Ms. Tejera had
tried to send friends to pick up the children, but when the Yale Club
management found the unattended children they called the cops instead
and would not release the children to non-family.
