Beats Stockton by a country mile for sure
Regular readers will remember I have written a time or
three about the trials and tribulations of the Stockton Unified School
District. Their accounting system is in disarray, they have been
playing fast and loose with oversight lays and they are damn near
broke. It is likely they will be put into receivership at the end of
this school year.
They do,
however, have $1.1 million to send about 500 of their "educators" to a
training meeting in Las Vegas this summer. There are apparently those
who think this is actually a massive party for SUSD Board President
AngelAnn Flores and her road dogs.
This
Professional Learning Communities conference is something that SUSD has
sent people to for years. The money is (allegedly) title I money and
can only be spent on staff development. The conference is in Vegas,
apparently has been in Vegas for many years. It will be held on June
7-9, after school is over for the year.
According
to a joint Stanford-Harvard study released five months ago SUSD math
scores exhibit a 64% "learning loss" based on a 2019 baseline. Reading
scores are 2.4 years behind the curve.

So, Vegas dealers and pit bosses shouldn't have to worry about card counters from SUSD?
