Donald Trump has a lawsuit
pending against CBS. For $10 billion. His assertion is that 60 MINUTES
did a major edit of a Kamala Harris word salad in order to present her
as not looking completely like a retard and that there are legal
problems with a broadcast news operation doing this in order
(apparently) to swing the election towards Harris. The deadline from
the FCC for 60 Minutes to provide a full transcript is about to
expire.
Bill Owens, the
executive producer of 60 Minutes, is still saying "The company knows I
will not apologize for anything we have done." There is talk in the
media that CBS is floating an apology and settlement.
Between
the time the original clip aired and the next day when the primetime
election special aired her response to a question about Benjamin
Netanyahu and Israeli policy was EXTENSIVELY edited. There is no
question that it happened. So far CBS has resisted releasing the full,
original transcript.
CBS is
contemplating a merger with Skydance Media and believes that having
this issue outstanding may cause problems. The FCC could halt the
merger. The controlling shareholder of Paramount Global, Shari
Redstone, which owns CBS, is reputed to be in favor of settling.
ABC just settled a defamation suit against Trump for $15 million +.
It will be fun to see if these arrogant media shits get slapped down.
