Ingram’s Little League Ballpark was all but destroyed in the July 4 flood
The Houston Astros and their charity foundation will contribute $2.5 million to rebuild Ingram’s Little League Ballpark, which was damaged in the July 4 flood, Astros owner Jim Crane announced Saturday.
The initiative plans to establish three baseball and softball fields, two practice fields, batting cages and additional facilities by spring 2026, according to MLB.com.
After the severe flooding from the Guadalupe River this summer, Ingram Little League reported that the fields were completely destroyed, stating they are “entirely gone,” with donations being accepted for rebuilding and flood relief efforts at https://tinyurl.com/448utt4k.
The Astros shared this effort during Saturday’s home game against the Seattle Mariners, which welcomed more than 1,000 Kerr County residents affected by the flooding for Central Texas Strong Day.
The Astros Foundation, along with The Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country, Major League Baseball, the Texas Rangers, several other MLB teams and Texas-based baseball programs and foundations, will collaborate to maintain the fields going forward.
