Two Bounty Hunters And One Fugitive Dead In Dallas Area Car Dealership Shootout

A Dallas-area auto dealership remains closed following a deadly shooting that left three men dead on the showroom floor.

It happened at Nissan of Greenville in Greenville, Texas on Tuesday night. Police say two bounty hunters were trying to arrest a wanted fugitive when a gun battle broke out inside the dealership. All three men were killed.

Investigators say the two licensed private investigators entered the dealership Tuesday afternoon claiming to be federal agents on the lookout for a man who was coming in to make a car purchase. At about 7:10 PM, the man entered the dealership with a woman. Guns drawn, the pair of bounty hunters attempted to make an arrest. A scuffle ensued and a gun battle erupted. Neither the woman nor the dealership customers or employees were hurt.

Rick Ford, the owner of the dealership and CEO of RJF Auto Partners told NBC 5 in DFW “I’ve been told that the two gentlemen approached him with handcuffs, who were going to try to arrest him, and that’s when the shooting started,” Ford said. Ironically, Rick Ford worked for me over 20 years ago.

Police continue to investigate. Ford told NBC 5 that dealership showroom will re-open on Monday, June 5.

Officials have identified the bounty hunters as Fidel Garcia Jr., 54, and Gabriel Bernal, 33. Minnesota fugitive Ramon Michael Hutchinson, 49, was also killed.
