At the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) – the largest female institution in the state – inmates are reportedly describing the conditions as “a nightmare’s worst nightmare” after the introduction of new pregnancy resources in the medical clinics. As per the Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF), a trans-exclusionary radical feminist organization, the new resources supposedly are “a tacit admission by officials that women should expect to be raped when housed in prison with men, where all sex is considered non-consensual by default within the system.” WoLF leaders are frequent guests on ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ and at Heritage Foundation events.

The organization's current outrage stems from the fact that transwomen are now being housed in CCWF after Senate Bill 132 was passed. The bill authored by state Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco), was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom last year, in 2020. The Transgender Respect, Agency and Dignity Act, became effective on January 1, allowing incarcerated transgender, non-binary, and intersex people to be housed and searched in a manner consistent with their gender identity.

Female inmates complain

In a July 10 piece for the Santa Monica Observer – a paper that claims to have “no friends at City Hall” – Amber Jackson, an inmate at CCWF, wrote: “Men are now in the women's prisons for the first time. And the worst parts of nature are taking their course.” Jackson claimed in her piece that transwomen inmates “have begun using their PENISES to have sex with multiple women. One has even received oral copulation on the recreation field outside in the open.”

“Most of us female prisoners are uncomfortable,” she claimed, adding, “These unattractive transwomen/men are having a field day having sex.” Jackson, in her unverifiable claim also wrote, “Additionally, I assume they have HIV. If they will have sex this carelessly, they were doing the same thing in the men's prisons!” She then defended herself saying, “I'm not anti-transgender people. However, trans rights trample on the rights of the rest of us. Currently, a handful of transwomen are causing a disproportionate amount of problems.” In a subsequent piece published on July 22, she claimed, “Senator Scott Weiner's destiny is to help spread HIV among the poor and the justice-impacted women in California. His intentions are to do as much damage as possible to California with one Senate Bill.”

Jackson, of course, is not the only inmate complaining. In April, the LA Times reported that inmates at CCWF said that guards warned them that “men are coming” and to expect sexual violence. Tomiekia Johnson, 41, an inmate, said staffers told her “that if we think it’s bad now, be prepared for the worst. That it’s going to be off the hook, it’s going to be jumping.” She told the Times, “They say we’re going to need a facility that’s going to be like a maternity ward. They say we’re going to have an inmate program where inmates become nannies.”

WoLF campaigns against trans inmates

WoLF, the infamous anti-transgender rights group told Vox in 2019: “Sex is grounded in materiality, whereas ‘gender identity’ is simply an ideology that has no grounding in science. The redefinition of the word ‘sex’ to mean ‘gender identity’ would have myriad harmful effects on women and girls, and women and girls as a distinct category deserve civil rights protections.” The organization in its new report is now showing its animus towards Senate Bill 132 aka the Transgender Respect, Agency and Dignity Act.

WoLF claimed, “Prior to the passage of SB 132, pregnancies among incarcerated women were vanishingly rare in California women’s prisons.” It said that while inmates have the right to avail contraceptive counseling and “your choice of birth control methods by a licensed health care provider within 60-180 days prior to scheduled release date,” the only methods available to women who are incarcerated, to prevent pregnancy, are condoms. Its report, refusing to identify transgender women as women, claims that many trans inmates “are sex offenders.” However, a UC Irvine Center for Evidence-Based Corrections presentation dated April 8, 2009, says that it is trans women who suffer sexual assault in men’s prison.

WoLF reported that one woman inmate during a CCWF Captains’ Meeting, said, “How do we feel safe in our community? When we reach out for help we get nothing… There has been an assault on a woman and we still are silenced. We have had our hope taken away once again. Does anyone care that we are being forced to house with 6’2, 250+ lbs men with penises that are here for brutally raping women? We have been warned by the officials in this prison, more are coming with worse charges. Where is the safety concern for us? If we say we are in fear, we are the ones locked up.” Another unnamed inmate told WoLF, "You might as well declare the prison is co-ed and ship us off to Pelican Bay!"

Strange what happens when people who pass the laws have no sense of what will happen, or possibly don't give a shit, or are so busy sucking up to the trans "community" that they don't give a shit about the rights of actual biological women.
