What is Joel Osteen’s net worth? Pastor's vast fortune includes $325K Ferrari and $10.5M house
Controversial megachurch pastor Joel Osteen found his wealth being a topic of debate on social media on July 18. The televangelist was slammed as social media users called on churches to be taxed, after his latest sermon called 'discover your greatness'. The source of anger appears to stem from Osteen's insane wealth and his assets while he claimed God was responsible for "greatness".
Under the Trump administration, megachurches and televangelists have enjoyed a big rise in popularity, and at the same time become targets for many people. In March 2020, The River at Tampa Bay Church came under immense criticism for flouting Covid-19 lockdown rules and hosting a gathering of hundreds. That eventually led to the arrest of the pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, by Florida authorities. In June this year, we reported on pastor Greg Locke's threat to sue CNN, an announcement he made to roaring applause.
Osteen himself is no stranger to controversy. The Texas-based pastor has routinely been slammed on social media, with his wealth becoming a key topic of discussion. That debate is back again, after his latest sermon. Following the sermon, Osteen also tweeted, "The scripture says, “Every good gift comes from your Father in heaven above.” What He’s destined for your life is not limited by what kind of natural father you had. Your greatness comes from your Father in heaven. What He’s spoken over your life will come to pass."
What is Joel Osteen's net worth?
For a pastor, Joel Osteen appears insanely wealthy. He owns big homes, drives fancy cars, and reportedly loves to shop. That kind of a lifestyle doesn't come cheap, which is why it shouldn't surprise you that Osteen's net worth is reportedly around $100 million. He's easily among the richest pastors in the US, making as much as Pat Robertson, but nowhere near what Kenneth Copeland makes.
In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Osteen said he doesn't take any funds from the Lakewood Church. If that's the case, how does he make $100 million? According to him, his wealth comes from the sale of his books "and other things like that." He added, "I really don't (make any apologies for his lifestyle). I feel like this is God's blessing. We are big givers... and I don't think there's anything wrong with having a nice place to live."
Osteen's sprawling $10.5M mansion in River Oaks
If you are wondering how nice a place he has to live, Osteen owns a mansion in River Oaks that is valued at $10.5 million. The 17,000-square-foot mansion has six bedrooms and sits on a property that is 1.86 acres. Osteen moved there in 2010 and put up his old home in Tanglewood for sale. At the time of selling, the house was valued at $2.9 million. Osteen and his wife Victoria also love to shop. The pastor reportedly has a weakness for expensive ties, while Victoria prefers Zara and Macy's as her go-to's.
Osteen's cars are a bit of a mystery. It is reported he owns a Ferrari 458 Italia, which costs around $325,000, but that was never confirmed. It is also rumored he owns a yacht, but again this is something we haven't been able to confirm. We could confirm that he does own a private jet, an Airbus A319 that is worth around $86 million.
"Thank you dear Jesus for providing Vickie and me with a nice place to live and a nice little car to help us do the Lord's work"
'Osteen talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk'
One person asked, "What would Jesus think of Joel Osteen's $325,000 Ferrari?" Another person joked, "In Joel Osteen's defense, Jesus also drove a $325,000 car and lived in a eight figure 17,000 square foot home. You want him to park a Prius here? God don't like ugly."
"Unless Joel Osteen agrees to return his Ferraris, Rolexes, and gulf stream jets, churches should pay taxes," one person said. Another tweeted, "I thought God wanted people who are as wealthy as you Joel Osteen, to help the poor not help themselves? @JoelOsteen."
"Grifter Joel Osteen has a $325,000 Ferrari and many other things that his followers have helped him purchase. Osteen talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk. It's called hypocritical grifting. Using Jesus to sucker people out of their money to fill his own coffers," one user tweeted. Another said, "That Joel Osteen has a following, grifts and is as wealthy as he is makes the fact that people follow Trump and send him money not surprising. And, neither scumbag pay taxes."
No stranger to being attacked, Osteen has chosen to ignore the latest
uproar. It is believed he makes around $70 million each year for the
sale of his books, speaking fees, radio show, and of course donations.
There's no doubt he is one of the richest pastors and like most
televangelists, Osteen makes no apologies for his wealth.

OK. People know. This is no secret and yet they still send him money. Who's the sucker?
He is only prosperous because God loves him so much. (No, I don't believe it either)
