Texas guv hopeful Allen West 'livid' over wife's DWI arrest Allen West in a video holding the receipts from his wife's dinner to prove she had not been drinking

A Republican politician in Texas is reportedly fuming after his wife was arrested on August 20, for drunk driving. According to Allen West, his wife Angela Graham-West only had lemonade and water that night during dinner at a PF Chang's, but she still somehow failed her sobriety test. As a result, their three-month-old grandson was left on the roadside with two cops, while Angela was taken to jail.

As we reported in March 2020, drunk driving is becoming a major cause for concern, especially amongst teenage drivers. The situation is especially dire in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Montana. We've also reported on several notable drunk-driving cases that haven't ended well. In July, a 31-year-old mother of three was killed in a crash in NYC after driving drunk. Earlier in May, Jessica Beauvais was arrested for killing NYPD officer Anastasios Tsakos while driving drunk.

Unlike those two instances though, it appears as if Angela wasn't drunk. Or at least that's the case if you believe West, who is running for Texas Governor. The former Texas Republican Party chairman took social media in a bid to exonerate his wife and is reportedly "beyond livid" with the Dallas Police Department.

What happened to Angela?

Angela was arrested on Friday, August 20 after a dinner with her grandson, Jaxton. According to reports, she was pulled over at around 8:45 pm by police for a traffic violation. The violation led the officer to perform a field sobriety test. The breathalyzer test reportedly came up negative, leading Angela to be arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Under 15 Years Old. She spent the night in jail before being released on August 21.

At the time of her arrest, Jaxton was reportedly left on the roadside with two police officers, until West's daughter Austin came to retrieve him. While this was going on, West was reportedly dining in Waco with Ted Nugent and other people. After Angela was released, West uploaded a video on social media blasting the Dallas PD. "I'm highly pissed off right now," he said. "They won't allow me to see Angela, they are saying there's nothing I can do," he added in the video uploaded from Dallas County Jail.

Fuming about the arrest, West seemed to be particularly angry that Jaxton was left on the roadside with cops. "This is crap," he said and added, "I support the thin blue line, but this is insidious." West uploaded that video with the caption - We are releasing violent criminals in Texas but arresting grandmas?

West demands public apology

On Sunday, August 22, West took to social media to continue his tirade against the Dallas PD. He first uploaded a YouTube video in which he said, "I'm still upset and very livid with what happened." He then shared the recipients from Angela's dinner that night, proving that she only had lemonade and water. He then identified the cop responsible for the arrest, as L Harris, a Black female officer.

West also said Angela was initially stopped for not using a signal when changing lanes, adding, "when was the last time anyone was stopped for not using a turn signal?" He accused the officer of falsely arresting Angela "in order to obtain the funding that they have." He also said Angela was "coerced, intimidated into taking a blood alcohol test." He then asked for officer Harris to be terminated from the Dallas PD, and the charges to be dropped against his wife.

The gubernatorial candidate also wanted the Dallas PD chief, the Mayor, and the Dallas DA to "come to my house and publicly apologize" to the family. "If they don't happen, I'll end up becoming your worst nightmare," he threatened. He followed up that video with photos of the receipts. West also posted a thread from his daughter Austin, who is the mother of Jaxton. The 60-year-old is currently running against current Gov Greg Abbott, a fellow Republican, who is up for reelection in 2022.

I'll bet Lorretta, the named server on the receipt has already been interviewed. The video feed has already been hacked and the manager has been transferred to Fairbanks. Politics are rough in Texas.
