Joe Biden was not seen in public on Thursday, after a widely criticized interview on Wednesday night on ABC News. In the interview, Biden said the chaos in Afghanistan was inevitable, sparking widespread anger.
Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, did not hold a briefing on Thursday - sparking condemnation from her predecessor Kayleigh McEnany. McEnany, who worked as Donald Trump's press secretary from April 2020 until Biden took over, said that Psaki should be holding daily briefings amid the Afghanistan crisis.
