"Pretty Decent Airport In The Middle Of A Crime Ridden Open Sewer"
The San Francisco city attorney has just approached a
judge and filed for an injunction against the Oakland Port Authority for
changing the name of what used to be the Oakland International Airport
and what is now the San Francisco Bay Oakland Airport. S.F. is claiming
that people are confused by the name change and flying into Oakland
when they actually want to fly into San Francisco. (The airport code is
still OAK. That hasn't changed.) The basis of the current lawsuit and
injunction request is trademark infringement. (As an aside, the San
Francisco Airport is actually in San Mateo County and not San
Francisco.)
Personally I
like my two suggestions better. The first was Mos Eisley Intergalactic
Spaceport. It has a certain ring to it. Also they could call it the
"Pretty Decent Airport In The Middle Of A Crime Ridden Open Sewer." Its
a bit long, but it would be truth in advertising.
I will try to keep you posted on how it works out.
