Ryan Wesley Routh, the man named as the suspect in a possible assassination attempt of Donald Trump, is pictured when he was arrested Sunday
The Secret Service managed to break up what appears so
far to have been a serious attempt to murder Donald Trump on the golf
course in Florida. This happened about 2 p.m. (three hours go as I type
this) Florida time.
It
seems that one of the agents working about one hole ahead of the
president spotted a man with a scoped Kalashnikov pointing thru the
fence near a public road adjacent to the golf course. The agent opened
fire (with his hand gun) on the bad guy who promptly fled. It is
unknown if the bad guy got off any shots. Trump was not hurt.
With
the aid of a drone the local constabulary followed, intercepted and
arrested the suspect. He is currently in the slammer in Florida. This
is still a fluid situation. The FBI is taking the lead on this one.
Both the FBI and Secret Service actually participated in the press
conference which is currently under way. I guess they figured
stonewalling and stalling were not good tactics since the last head of
the Secret Service got handed her ass.
