Soos Technology, an Israeli agro-tech startup that transforms male chickens into egg-laying females, thereby mitigating the need to cull male chicks, has made the final round of the Grow-NY $3 Million Global Food and Agriculture Business Competition, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced this week.
A total of 264 startups from 27 countries applied for the competition. The top 20 finalists will pitch their business plans at the Grow-NY Food and Ag Summit this November. Grow-NY will award a total of $3 million in prize money to seven winners, including a $1 million top prize, two $500,000 prizes and four $250,000 prizes.
